The Best Fish and Chips in Melbourne?

Can Kit’s Cucina be stooping so low as to make a call out for the best fish and chip recommendations in Melbourne?

Short answer: yes.

The other day, finding myself hungry and with twenty minutes to kill waiting for a print job in Caulfield South I stumbled into this gem:

Batter Up Fish and Chips
827 Glenhuntly Rd
Caulfield South

White painted walls, a silver hood over the cooker, clean oil and a middle aged Greek guy walking from out the back! I was immediately reassured.  This looked like a second generation operation...

Fresh and tasty!  I had two scallops (that came battered on a skewer), a fish bite and a potato cake for $5. Five bucks!

Two thumbs up, six tentacles out of eight.

Please post your suburban fish and chip recommendations here.

  1. if it's F'n'C's on the beach you crave, my tip is Gilligans, Barwon Heads. On Fridays they even fire up their enormous paella pan on the street! With crisp battered fish, a side of paella and a corona on the beach its close to heaven.
